Here the question of male or female is a little less in doubt. Females do most of the nest building. Although this female hasn't yet arrived on her breeding grounds the thoughts of building a nest are on her mind. So she gathers some nesting material while still migrating. In another day or two she will continue moving northward across the Great Lakes to breed in Canada.
