One of the things I enjoy most about nature photography is the time I spend just sitting and waiting. It is not time wasted, for it is often then that I learn new things about the world around me.

As I waited at the edge of Fishercap Lake for a moose to come and feed in the lake, I was treated to this female Mallard. There was something very good to eat just under the small rocks lining the waters edge. Algae? Small crustaceans? I don't know. But time after time she pushed her bill under the rocks and slurped up something very desirable. And now I have a new mystery to solve. Life is so interesting!
