Mt Goat Kid_JF01573
Most of the time when photographing wildlife I use a long lens. It allows me to keep some distance between me and my subject, a distance I want in part because I want to interfere as little as possible with the animals normal activities. I keep this practice even when I can tell a particular animal is more used to people.
The Mountain Goats in this part of Glacier are quite used to people. Still I don't approach them closely, but wait patiently for them to come into range of my camera. This beautiful little fellow found me so curious he afforded me a very sweet close-up.
Those are eyes that really look at you.
