Moose_Female_JF04633
This young female moose always entered the lake by herself. Every time I saw her she looked nervous and skittish, like one aware that danger was always nearby, hidden in the forest. I started trying to put myself in her place. Alone, lacking claws or horns to defend herself, constantly needing to figure out where it was safe to be in a park full of predators. Sharing the lake with people lining the shore must be stressful too. We posed no threat, but could she be sure?
