While the adult Eastern Bluebirds (Sialis sialis) have solid colors of blues and rusts, the juveniles (or young of the year) have many white spots front and back. Eastern Bluebirds prefer edges, places where woodlands and open fields abut one another and where insects are plentiful. Thankfully my neighborhood has just such habitat.
