"What?" you say, "Where's the Blue?". It is waiting for this young bird to molt into its adult feathers. Immature Little Blue Herons are indeed white.

To tell them from other white wading birds like the Snowy Egret or Great Egret, look for the Little Blue Heron's two-toned bill and the grey tips on the primary wing feathers.
