Yellow-rumped Warbler with Mayfly & Nymphs_JF90450

Here the female has caught a newly emerged adult Mayfly. I think those are remnant exoskeletons of the nymphs in the lower left area of the image.

If she looks a bit disheveled, it is because of the frenetic pace at which she hunts and delivers food to 3 dependent Brown-headed Cowbird chicks, and that she is in the midst of a post-nuptial molt into her winter plumage.
