This Red Phase Screech Owl stands guard as his mate, a Gray Phase Eastern Screech Owl, was in a nest box not fifty feet away incubating their eggs. He slowly came to life as evening approached, alternating between napping and keeping an eye on what was happening around him before dusk arrived and the nights hunting began.
