Canada Gosling_JFF6568

The small green and purplish leaves floating on the surface are what this gosling and her siblings were feasting on. I believe it is a non-native invasive species known as Common Frogbit, first introduced in Canada and spreading rapidly around the Great Lakes region. There was no shortage of it in this wetland. She and her siblings were not putting a dent in the numbers of these plants.
