Brown-headed Nuthatch Pair 2_J1F1939
A dead branch of a pine tree is a typical nesting site for Brown-headed Nuthatches.
At first I thought this pair was still building their nest as both parents came and went from the nest without spending much time inside. Then one stayed and the other brought in food. So, perhaps there are eggs inside and the female just needed to stretch her wings for awhile.
