Dandy Star_DSC1369
I'm not really sure what species this is, but it may be the non-native Western Salsify (Tragopogon dubius). It was much larger than a dandelion. When I set my camera directly over top of it, the process of changing my point of focus reminded me of looking through a kaleidoscope as the white fluffy ends of the seeds (pappus) grew or shrank. I settled on this point of focus because I was attracted to the clean, tan colored seeds in the center.
